About Us

I am excited to welcome learners, staff and our community back to Sunningdale Primary School as we begin our 7th school year. Sunningdale Primary School opened its doors on 16 January 2013 with a total of 186 learners and 8 staff members.

This year, we welcome 1 094 learners with a staff of 85!

We are an English medium, value-driven school catering for learners from Grade R to Grade 7 from multi-cultural backgrounds.

At Sunningdale Primary School, we are committed to preparing our learners for high school and for life. We strive to continuously improve our learner’s academic performance, while guiding them to understand the importance of compassion, respect, perseverance and responsibility.

Sunningdale Primary offers a wide variety of sports and cultural activities for our learners. To promote an holistic development, each learner is encouraged to participate in at least one extra-mural activity per term.

Through our high standard of academics, cultural and sporting activities, as well as, our excellent learner achievement, we endeavor to instill a sense of pride and belonging in our learners, parents and staff.

I am honored to be the principal of such a wonderful school, and look forward to developing and renewing relationships with learners, parents, staff and community members in 2018. Together, we will make it another great year!

A legacy is born

There was much excitement on the 29th of January 2013 as we unveiled our new badge at the first parent teacher meeting. What does the badge symbolise?
The anchor is a symbol of hope and is sometimes used in conjunction with the heart (charity) and the cross (faith).
The sun is an emblem of glory and brilliance. The rising sun is a symbol of hope. One ray of the sun signifies “by the light of heaven”.

Our motto: Believe and Achieve

Our Vision

At Sunningdale Primary we strive to:

  • nurture the harmonious development of the mind, body and spirit of our learners to
enable them to reach their unique inner potential.
Our Mission

At Sunningdale Primary we strive to:

  • creating a diverse academic, cultural and sporting environment for our learners./li>
  • appointing staff who are dedicated to guiding and motivating our learners to unlock
    their full potential.
  • providing our staff with a conducive environment to reach their career aspirations
  • celebrating a multi-cultural environment that values uniqueness, difference and
    culture.
  • creating a place that identifies with unity within diversity.
  • establishing an understanding, respect and compassion for one another.
  • maintaining healthy relationships within our school community.
  • imparting the necessary values, morals and beliefs for our learners to discover
their own dignity whilst developing self-discipline and a positive self image.
  • developing a respect for authority and discipline at school, at home and in the
    community.

The sunrise reminds us every day that God has given us a brand new chance to shine.
Take the chance!
